Directory of Korean Tax Offices

Tax offices are scattered nationwide — the help line is a single number.

한국어 · 日本語 · 中文

The NTS oversees 7 regional tax offices (Seoul, Central, Incheon, Daejeon, Gwangju, Daegu, Busan) with over 100 local tax offices beneath them, each assigned by business/residential address. Business registration and filings are, in principle, handled by your jurisdictional office, though most tasks can be done remotely through Hometax.

Phone consultations are unified under a single number regardless of jurisdiction — the National Tax Counseling Center (126, no area code) — which handles tax law interpretation, Hometax usage guidance, and more.

Where to direct each type of inquiry

General tax questions / Hometax help: National Tax Counseling Center, 126
Foreigner-specific consultation: written inquiry via the NTS English website (www.nts.go.kr/eng)
Business registration / document submission: your jurisdictional tax office (online available)
Questions about a specific notice or bill: the direct line for the department listed on the notice

Book ahead before visiting in person

For complex matters (like responding to a tax audit inquiry), booking an appointment via Hometax or the counseling center before visiting lets you skip the wait and meet directly with the responsible officer.
